These are the terms for using Nauvo (the app). Read them alongside the Privacy Policy, which covers what data we collect and why - this document covers using the app itself.
1. Accounts
You can play as a guest, with no account and no email - everything on that device is saved to that guest identity, locally to it. Creating an account (an email address, verified with a one-time sign-in link - there is no password anywhere in this app) lets you keep your progress if you switch devices or clear your browser. You are responsible for keeping access to your own email; we cannot recover an account whose email address you have lost access to.
2. Fair play
Callsigns, avatars and gameplay are moderated: you can report another player, and other players can report you, for reasons like abusive names or unsporting conduct. We may shadow-mute an account (silently limit how visible its contributions are to others) or take other moderation action if we believe it is warranted. In short: play fair, do not harass other players, and do not try to cheat the matchmaking or rating system.
3. Purchases and virtual items
Some cosmetic items and season-pass content can be bought with real money, processed by Stripe, or with in-app currency earned through play. By construction, not just by promise, nothing purchasable in this app grants any gameplay advantage - every purchasable item is a ship skin, board theme, visual effect, avatar part, or title, and nothing else is sellable. Purchases of digital items are generally final; if something goes wrong with a purchase (a failed delivery, a duplicate charge), contact us using the address below and we will sort it out.
4. Availability
This app runs on infrastructure we operate ourselves. We do not promise a specific uptime, and features may change, be added, or be removed as the app develops. We will try not to take away something you have already earned or purchased, but we cannot promise every feature stays exactly as it is forever.
5. Your account, your data
See the Privacy Policy for what we collect and why. You can export your data or delete your account at any time from Settings. Deleting your account ends your access immediately - see the Privacy Policy for exactly what deletion does and does not remove.
6. Acceptable use
Do not use the app to violate the law, harass other players, attempt to compromise the game's systems (including matchmaking, rating, or the in-app economy), or use automated tools to play on your behalf. We can suspend or terminate an account for a clear violation of these terms.
7. No warranty
The app is provided as it is. We do not guarantee it will be error-free, uninterrupted, or fit for any particular purpose beyond what it plainly does: a 90-second naval duel game.
8. Changes to these terms
If these terms change, we will update the "last updated" date at the top. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
9. The English version governs
Like the Privacy Policy, these terms are written and maintained in English only - only this page's title and its menu link are translated elsewhere in the app, not this text. The English version here governs.
